Sub Arctic tomatoes

Just thought I'd ask if anybody has planted the tomato seeds given away with the GYO magazine and if so how are they doing?

Mine took a while to germinate, about 2 weeks (in a windowsill propagator) but are now just beginning to get first set of proper leaves - nowhere near as advanced as yours tho'

yes i have mine in the greenhouse there about 3" tall

Mine are in plastic greenhouse now, all got true leaves and about 3 inches.

Mine germinated on the unheated bedroom window cill and are now in the unheated greenhouse. All about 4" tall and doing well.

I only sowed mine last weekend, but they were through by Saturday so looking forward to them. I actually kept all the more unusual varieties til last weekend so they would have a better chance - they are in an unheated propogator on the dining room windowsill, will take the lid off tomorrow I think and leave there for another couple of weeks before potting on (need to buy more pots for one thing!!).

I do have 4 moneymaker and 3 gardeners delight which I sowed in February potted on now and about 6" tall each. And I potted on the tumbling tom variety at the weekend - 5 plants, each just onto 1st true leaves (well, through about a week now) and potted deep as well (following some hints from here, when I have potted on the toms, I have buried the stem up to almost the 1st leaf - the germination ones).

I got some from HSL and sowed them a week before the ones which came with GYO. The GYO ones are doing loads better than the HSL ones, although they've been treated exactly the same

Only sowed mine a few weeks ago, germinated well and growing on on lounge windowsill. Ready for potting on I think, but space and warmth are at a premium at the moment.

Here's mine, sown first week of feb. They're not huge but they're nice healthy plants. My other toms have only just been planted.

I noticed them on your blog Ma. Very impressive. I think I'll be planting some more tonight along with some HSL Tiger Toms.

The tiger toms are doing great too. And they are supposed to fruit better outdoors (doesn't say how they did last summer!) Also got a few Black Krim from Phreddy. I sowed some Golden Sunrise too (I like a colourful salad!) - got a few seeds of the GS left if you fancy a go. These are also supposed to be ok outdoors and to do well in cooler climates.

Cool, yes please!! I couldn't find any info on Tiger Toms (I selected them because my Grandad's name was Tom), so I've held off planting them out until I've seen other evidence, and as you've now done that.....
