  • will onion sets last another season?

Hi as the title suggests I wondered if my onion sets would be ok to plant next year? I don't really have enough room for any more but if they are going to go off then would rather find more space or give them away. If they can be stored, where do I store them?

    Any thoughts, thanks

this is not meant to be a conclusive answer BUT i've found that when i dont put mine in, they sprout and then wither and dry up........

They'll be all wrinkly and yuk. Not that, at my age, I can afford to have a downer on wrinkliness!

That will be a conclusive NO then!

Must find some space for about 100 onions, LOL

I found a tip in Joy Larkcom's book, if you have too many onion sets and have run out of space plant them very close together and you'll get spring onions at least!
              best wishes

An early rise to see to the hens this morning and as I was a bit too early couldn't resist a visit to the forum. And yes, the gardening library gets well-thumbed when I can't sleep!
