Lancashire Lad peas

I know TonyF has grown these before but I haven't and can't find any info on the web about how tall they grow. I have 11 strong and sturdy seedlings in my root-trainers gagging for the chance to get their feet in the dirt. Problem is, I don't know what size canes to put them up. I shall make a wigwam and string concoction but I don't want to waste the 7ft canes (got lots of beans to try too!) if they only grow 3ft tall. I suspect they are biggies but I'd like someone to confirm it before I go ahead. Don't want them wagging about on top of a short wigwam like something out of Quatermass (gives me age away eh?)

I don't know Flum, but I'd suspect they are tall ones as most of the heritage ones are. Could you use a couple of canes with some netting which could be extended as they grow...

Might do the 4 pole wigwam thingy anyway - going to have to invest in more poles I suspect!

From memory Flummers me old fruity, they grow 5-6ft, don't know what that is in new money but under 2 meters. And I pinched mine out to maintain the vigorous habit.

I had so many over this year I returned 190 to HSL for redistribution and that's in addition to the hundred or so I've got in Rootrainers.

Hopefully I'll get my seed guardian peas and beans in this weekend - it's so wet here atm, doing anything means squelching though soggy stuff.

Thanks Tony me dear. How do they eat? Are they a sweet 'new' pea or a big chunky marrowfat?

Edit - maybe I've got some of the ones you grew? How exciting!
