Hi, I have maris piper potatoes this year being planted out in potato barrells.
I am waiting for the second week in may before planting out so there will be no risk of frost.

check when the last frost is due in your area.

      Hi
My earlies aren't even going in for a week or 2; and none of mine went out until this time last year either.

It will be ok to put yours out now I should think; under the soil they will be safe from frost and you are pretty south down there!

By the time the leaves are up and romping away, the frosts should be a dim and distant memory [we hope].

They'll probably be fine....just have some fleece handy once the shoots appear in case of a frost.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
