sprout disaster

imagine 40 bonny little F1 green sprout plants All at 3-4 leaf stage and 5 inch high In green house in individual pots and due for planting out this weekend. I went into greenhouse today to find handfuls of leaves on the floor and nearly ALL of the plants decimated. Something has eaten through at stalk level - not eaten the leaves just the bottom of the stalk. Can't believe it. Morel is do not leave all of the same crop in one place - If Id put one tray at one end and one at other would have half a cropat least. Hoping that something comes back from a presuiumed strong root system.

Thats rotten luck Adam. I had birds in the polytunnel once and they pulled everything up. Wonder what on earth could have eaten the stalks ?

Gee whiz Adam ! What a shame. If you find out what did it be sure to let us know. Dood warning though about splitting the pots into two areas. Will take heed of it.
