hi my keveldon wonder pea plant which i plnted out last week are nearly dead.is it too early for them they are under a mini poly tunnel my other four feltham first plants are doing fine,should i sow some more peas and take the otheras out are wait to see if they recover.

I just planted mine out the other day (under a cloche) and I did wonder at the time whether it might be too early but they seem fine so far.
We've had frost the last three mornings but they don't seem to have suffered.

I'd leave them but sow some more anyway just in case.

I put some kelvedon out about 3 weeks ago perhaps stupidly without protection and they have gone all yellow and horrible. I am not sure if it is just slug damage or whether I should have covered.

i planted out my kelvedon wonder last week - approx 50 of them - most between 2" and 4" high - all looking ok so far .....
i have sown another couple of dozen in the greenhouse just in case, most "popping up" now .....

Are people hardening off their plants before sticking them out to fend for themselves?
They need to get used to outdoor temps gradually if they've been inside all their short lives.

I hardened mine off for at least two weeks before placing them out and up until yesterday they looked fine if not a little slug damaged, they have gone yellowy but not rotten maybe they have become too wet, lets hope the second lot are not going to go the same way.

i started some of mine indoors (windowsill) but moved them out to the unheated greenhouse before they sprouted - extra (spares) sowing has been in unheated greenhouse
i've planted out straight from there - all look ok to me at the moment ....
