  • Does rain really penetrate fleece ?

I know rain is supposed to get through fleece but I am concerned that maybe not enough is filtering through the fleede I have on my veg seedlings ?
What is other grapes experience/opinion ?

some rain does seem to get thtough fleece if it is flat on the ground but where I have it over hoops I need to water from time to time.

I think once it's had a good soaking it seems to lose it's 'waxiness'..........same with enviromesh for that matter!

certainly does! It takes a week or so to weather in a bit like Snadger say's but it keeps things watered an at the same time things dont get flattened in a deluge.
Prop it up a bit with some sticks though, If you lay it flat on your plants an the skys open then obviously the rain might fall faster than it can get through an flatten your seedlings.

Thanks everyone for your advice and suggestions. I guess I was concerned that my plants were not getting enough of the light rain in particular. I think I shall prop the fleece up as you suggest, Wren, that mekes sense.
