  • Orange Buckets - Filling

    Hi Folks,

Off to Homebase or B&Q today to get some soil/compost for my 20 odd buckets. Gonna use them for toms, peppers, cucumbers, etc.

Question is what’s the best compost to use? Should I just go for growbags or multipurpose stuff?

    Thanks
    Danny
    Cheers

I use the best bargain multi-purpose compost for mine.

Just ordinary multi purpose and then add a few chicken manure pellets for food.

How do you use these cheap orange buckets then? Have you removed the bottoms or drilled drainage holes in them?

Do you sink them in the ground a little bit?

Using them for the first time this year. Using 3 per growhouse instead of a growbag. That said I'm also using some for marrow, pumpkin, squash etc and I may sink these, nothing ventured?
