I planted mine in raised bed (earlies) on 19th march with no cover and they are just peeping through. The ones in buckets were planted 10 days later and are just poking through as well. Just added some more soil to them all.

Planted Armandine, Charlotte and Bernadette on 19th March. Nothing showing yet.

Maybe as they are all girls they are making themselves beautiful before they come out

Probably yes. I also have some big pots outside under the shelter of a hedge and trellis on 2 sides. They started off in the greenhouse but are now toughing it out in their little microclimate. I just top up when they peep over the top. They will be later than the greenhouse ones but earlier than the garden. Gives me a succession.

Popped down to the lottie yesterday to plant some stuff out and noticed the first 2 little shoots peeping though. Covered them up! That'll learn 'em! When I checked the garden plot one or two were showing there too, so there was much raking done!

my ones from the jitchen are kicking up nicely, the seeds not so much. I do have a question though, im growing in large black bins and was trying the method of when they sprout cover them with soil, sprout, cover and so forth. i let the grow a few leaves because i didnt check on them, if i cover them now will they still be ok to grow on?

I planted our first earlies weeks ago (early-mid March) by digging trench then putting pots in a hole at the bottom of the trench and covering. They are all up and looking very healthy. After planting, I covered in a single layer of fleece and they got snowed on and heavy frost. The main crop were planted a couple of weeks (mid-late March) after and are showing through now too. We're in Swansea Valley, South Wales.
