  • Poorly pepper and chilli

I planted chilli seeds and pepper seeds in March and they grew really well, a tad leggy, not bushy but looked good they are in pots, lots of chillis and 4 lovely peppers growing, I was thrilled,at the weekend I fed them for the first time with a tomato feed, as recommended on the bottle and now all the leaves have gone limp and started to curl, will it be the feed? They look like they are short of water, but they aren't I have felt for a while that maybe the pots are a little small about 8" across, could this be it, if so can I transplant them now or not, they are inside on a sunny windowsill in teh conservatory, please help!!!

Hello chickenkeeper, I don't think the size of your pots is the problem. 9" might have been ideal but 8" only means you have to water a little more frequently. It sounds as if it is something to do with the feed. To strong maybe or have you drowned them. If they are really wet you could take them out of their pots and repot into some dry compost. I hope you find a solution as it's very disappointing to loose a plant that was doing well. Good luck.

        Hi Chicken keeper,

It sounds to me like the fertilser solution used was a little too strong. leave curl is also a common problem with over watering. If the soil is quite wet, I would repot them taking great care not to disturb the roots too much
