  • Which veg in the same bed?

As a newbie this year, I'm trying to work out which veg grows happiest together sharing the same bed, so's to speak

I planted out my red and white onions yesterday, so that leaves six 4' x 4' beds which will contain a mixture of:

    Broccoli
    Cauliflower
    Carrots
    Beetroot
    Cabbage
    Leeks
    Courgettes
    Squash (compact bush varieties)
    Sprouts
    Parsnips
Mange Tout (may grow this against a wall instead)
Salad Stuff - Spring onions, lettuce varities, radish, etc

Can you tell me which seeds are best sown in the same bed?

Aubergines, courgettes, chillis, tomatoes, etc will be in the greenhouse, spuds in containers.

According to our book you should keep Roots, Brasicas and Others separate.
But in reality you can't always do that. This year we have broad beans and peas in one bed together, spring onions, spinach and lettuces in one bed together and then radishes, beetroots, carrots (the roots) and cauliflowers and cabbages (the brascias) all in one bed together.

I know some plants can't be grown next to each other but one of the other more experience people on here will have to say which ones.
