  • Aubergine Seedlings....

    I sowed my seeds (black beauty) at the end of March and I've had a fair few come through, but some of them have 3 leaves and the rest have come through with only 2 leaves....... is that the norm??

    Most veggie seeds have two seed leaves when they come thru, I can't think of any that have more or less, unless by 'accident'....anyone?

    How big are they now NG?

    And a heaven in a wild flower

      They should have two seed leaves followed by real leaves in pairs also.

      Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

      Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

        They're only an inch or so - just came through a few days ago, the first two to come through had 3 leaves, the rest of em have only got 2 leaves - the leaves on the ones with 3 leaves are the same shape as the ones with only 2 leaves on, its just the seed leaves at the moment, not the true leaves.

          Maybe a Tricot. I have one tomato type that throws one or two each season.

          I love growing tomatoes.

              It's said that a Tricot in a tomato will be a stronger plant, but I haven't noticed much difference over the years.

              Absolutely nothing to worry about with your seedlings.

                Tricot = 3 cotyledons.
