  • Does this look familiar

I've had an 'odd' chili that has turned out to be something else, other than what it was supposed to be. Top to bottom its length is 38mm.

Does anyone recognise the fruit of this chili?

Hi - I got a plant like that one year from a pack of jalapeno seeds. I treated them like chilis - so picked them quite small. And it ended up being a normal sweet pepper plant. No idea if this is your proplem though...

Thank you dajehle - I've had my suspicions about it for a while and the bell bottom on it is starting to form. Getting too late here now to expect ripe fruit if it is a Sweet Pepper, so may cut my losses with it.

Looks like a sweet pepper to me too. I had some ripen in November so if you have a greenhouse don't give up on it yet.

Thanks Shirley - I may just shift it under a tree to keep the frosts off it and see how it goes. My hothouse is full up.

Any space in the house? I overwintered a chilli plant in our dining room year before last.

It looks like the sweet bell peppers I grew last year too. I would agree, if you can move it indoors for a wee while I reckon you'd do it a favour.
