I have garlic that's come up for the third year running as once it's leaves disappear I forget it was there - this year I'm determined we'll get some of it, but when is the time to harvest it?

It should be ready for digging up around the end of July.

You could just use the green tops like garlicky chives!

At the latest it wants lifting when the leaves start to die off.

Garlic is usually lifted on the longest day (21st) June.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

This is some of my Garlic a month after planting. If all goes well I should get a good crop.

I planted mine in October...and it's doing ok...so do I pull the garlic up on the longest day really? I thought garlic was a bit later?!?! Maybe I could just dig up one bulb to see what's going on??
