My grass area is level but a bit uneven a bit like pot holes in the road also a few weeds in it. What is the best way to even it up cant afford to dig it all up and start again.
I was thinking of applying weed and feed solution then putting soil /compost all over with more in the deeper parts then re seeding .
Would this work. Or should i do something else

I laid turf laid last year, unfortunately when I got some logs delivered for the woodburner the chap reversed over my new turf in his pickup. I have some deep ruts that I am going to attack when the weather dries up. I'll be cutting the grass then filling the ruts with fine topsoil then sowing seeds on the soil. Fortunately don't have any weeds to deal with so can't help with that.

Weed and feed is good, pot holes you could either fill and seed or cut the turf out fill the hole in and replace the turf depending on the size of the depression, roller very good at leveling the ground while still wet/damp.

I have used weed and feed with added moss killer and think the weeds thrive on it. Front lawn is on second application and still LOADS of weeds. Maybe the one without the moss killer is better? It certainly killed all the moss but that was about it.

I would add compost to get the level, then tread it down, then rake, then add the seed then depending on the number of birds you have add netting and light sprinkle of complst over so the birds can't see it so well. The only down said is that it can be patchy and VERY slow

Get a bag of sand and a spade, where the hollows are put the spade in vertically and lever forward, add soil or sand behind the spade, move the spade back 6" and do the same again ad infinaitum. Once you have the lawn somewhere near level spread a topdressing of rootzone which is a mixture of sand and soil over the top and rake it in with a rake using the back as a lute or grader Finish by applying a dressing of grass seed! You could use a light roller after this if you want to but I was always taught, and still believe, a roller is a short term solution creating long term compaction problems!

the best way of raising hollows is to cut a cross in the turf , rollback the turf, fill the hollow with soil, sand or compost, replace the turf, water well. its an instant fix and can be instantly usable. filling and seeding will mean bare muddy patches for several weeks. i have never fed a lawn, just means it needs mowing more often. personally i dont mind a few daisies and dandelions in the lawn.
