  • Old Compost?

    Hello Folks,

Will soon be emptying my pots and storing the bulbs for the summer. Question is can this compost go in my raised bed or should I pop it in the compost bin?

    Thanks
    Danny
    Cheers

    Hi
Either; depends on where you need it more I guess. I use mine straight on the ground unless the composter needs beefing up a bit.

I have a spare compost bin, and usually put old potting compost in there. Then I re-use it for potting on, once I've added some poultry manure granules, or for covering the bokashi when I empty it into the other compost bin. I always use fresh for sowing seeds or pricking out seedlings though.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

It's great used as a soil conditioner or a mulch. Good for growing carrots in also!
