This may sound like a stupid question, but can you eat mange tout raw? I saw a programme the other day where they were eating french beans? raw, and I hadn't realised you could, so it got me thinking.
The one bean you really should not eat raw is the kidney bean, as found in all good chilli's as it is toxic when raw and cooking is required to kill the toxin.
Hello Blossom, as Peter said don't eat raw kidney beans but as for green vegetables that come out of your garden that you would normally cook, you can eat them raw if you like. You can eat the grass. You just won't like it. My father in law ate the leaves off the cauliflowers. YUK!
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
you can buy bags of fresh peas so not frozen at m n s i think. anyway, i get those and eat them cold out of the fridge for a snack. yum. i eat cougetts raw too if they are small especially round ones. ooh this is making me hungry now

I saw a packet of courgette seeds today which said great raw (they were the small round type). You learn something new everyday.
I must admit to eating peas before they get home, also love raw on a salad, with lovely cooked/baked sweet potatoe(haven't tried growing the sweet potatoes myself-they only shop bought!)
