make your own,its cheaper and it recycles,i sink a yogurt/margarine tub in the ground with the magic liquid in,get an ice cream tub or something else similar size, cut 2/3 little tunnels out and place it over the yogurt pot,the idea is it keeps the rain out and the slugs and snails will go through the tunnel to oblivian,

I saw some in Homebase yesterday, but it's just as easy to make your own as lottie dolly says.

I am using "Yakult" bottles for slugs trap, half fill some beer, buried the yakult bottle 4/5 deep and stick some 3 bamboo skewers sorround it and set an upsidedown plastic cup leaning on the skewers. The cup will work as umbrella, the rain water won't fill in and to prevent other bugs from falling in the trap accidentally. Good luck !

I made my own as lottie dolly says and they are working a treat, just the same with ice cream tub over the top with holes in the sides, but dont forget the stone on top, so it doesnt blow away.

            Happy hunting!

                Lidel

                First post...

I got my slug beer tents from Lidel a couple of weeks back They are a square green tub with a snap on roof. I put them into my raised beds last weekend and have already had a few patrons

Saw on Gardeners World that coffee grinds can deter slugs. We have a Starbucks at work so I'll be asking them for a bag.

Sorry to ask a question under you post - hope you dont mind. (??) I would like to do slug traps with my class for our veg patch - but we obviously cant use beer - any other suggestions of what we can use?

                  Thanks in advance.

Warm water and yeast . Frost will kill the yeast so mix up the water & yeast leave for 20min in a warm place to ferment before putting in your traps

Sorry forgot >< add abit of suger too to feed the yeast
