hope some one can help i plan on planting out my swede plants this week end do they need a collar like cabbages, i keep hearing they are all from the same family. thanks

Good question.......I hope not as mine are planted out now!

I have never had cabbage root fly attack my swedes in the past, but as you say, they are a brassica and I may have just been lucky?

try putting fleece over them that will do the trick.
