I started my sweetcorn in my greenhouse quite early, (early march I think) and I've planted them out today on my allotment after hardening off in my cold frame. I've had one or two negative comments about getting them out so early because the old boys tell my they'll die at any sign of frost. The thing is that they're about 10-12" tall and were fast outgrowing their pots, so I didn't have much choice anyway. I wondered if anyone else has their sweetcorn out yet, or am I (as suggested by the old sages) tempting fate?

We're having a heatwave now, with well above-average temperatures. It could all change next week!
We could go back to cold, wet, windy weather and your sweetcorn will suffer. I'm hanging on till end of the month to put mine out ... but best of luck with yours, let us know how they work out.All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
