  • I am properly amazed!

Yesterday, I had one tiny chilli sprout, 2 peppers, and a couple of bulges in my squash tray

But today, less than 24 hours later, I've got 2 chilli seedlings, 4 peppers and like, 6 2-inch tall squashes..it's nuts! how do they grow so quickly?! I haven't even checked my plants outside yet, ee they make me so happy!!

      It's great innit!!!

I went away for 2 days and everything has got so big!

In one week, my strawbs and [rescued] gooseberry has flowered, lost flowers and had fruit. Gooseberry is about 8mm diameter, which is fab because the plant is ancient and was handed [thrust] at me by my Sis in law last summer...Told her that we had baby berries on it and she didn't believe me - it had been in their garden for years and not done anything. Makes such a difference giving it some new compost, a feed and cutting it back.

The onions are romping away as well; i picked the first spring onion tonight and had it with just picked salad leaves.

Don't you just love growing veg!!!

Also, last year to the day, we bought my OH a big poppy for his birthday, and it flowered for the first time this year today - on his birthday. How lovely.

Roll on toms and courgettes; my absolute faves. Got big toms on my early aurora so it just needs to get a move on now and turn red.

I swear i can see my potato's growing!! Runner beans have gone in and are already starting to climb. What a difference some sun makes.

Its not just the plants either. It warms the soul after the winter darkness.

It is just unfortunate that the weeds seem to always grow faster than the veg. I have mares tail and I can do a complete sweep of the lottie and dig up every visible piece first thing in the morning and by lunchtime I can see more emerging. Still it is nice to see a lottie full of veg merrily growing away.
