Ok. I went to a talk last night with a top cucumber grower as speaker - giving away his tip-top secrets.
He raises them off the ground and after they grow to 2-2.5 foot, starts tying them along the top apex of the greenhouse roof - you know - like at an angle. Then the cucumbers grow straighter. Anyway - he tied them with sting or soft cable ties to a wire along the roof- quite frequently to support the weight.
He also picked off the flowers on side shoots, not the ones on the stalk - contrary to everything I've always done.
They also like it humid - unlike tomatoes.
