having lots of waste nowI am clearing my plot ready for manuring, raise thought of differing ways to compost. can anyone tell me if any of these are good ideas or are rubbish. Put waste in trench back fill with soil,or lie waste (green) on top of the soil and place manure over the top, or same as before but overlay both withblack plastic... any ideas

composting
Hi Caz1
The first method you mention - the trench - is ideal for runner and climbing french beans, though if you leave the trench open, it will assist in the breakdown of the material over the winter.
The second method sounds fine to me though have no experience of green manures. That said, I wouldn't cover the green manure / manure with black plastic, as again, the winter weather helps in the breakdown of the compost. Geordie has a thread on composting elsewhere on the grapevine that you may want to have a look at. Hope this helps
