i tried to sprout some on damp kitchen paper without success. I'm sure i read somewhere that you need to dry them out first but that was after my attempt and i haven't tried since.
I tried a couple of years ago - dried out seeds for a few days and planted straight into ground about this time of year. Most grew on but I didn't have them in a great spot as was just experimenting really. I find organic produce MUCH easier to get useful seed from.
