  • Far from Organic !

I've always gardened organically until now

I've just received delivery of a vast array (well four bottles) of chemicals to assist in my food production !

I'm going to trial growing Watercress hydroponically. The use of chemicals jars somewhat with the organic approach but (some might say), that is the nature of hydroponics.

Should I free guilty as I dose up my tanks with nuitrient and adjust the pH with scarey chemicals ?

P.S. Mygrow table pumps operate off solar power

    Why the change?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'm growing my watercress in seed trays on capillary matting, and using organic feed in the water. It seems to be doing fine, although the aphids seem to have found it just as tasty as me
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Are they scary chemicals? Natural organic stuff is still chemicals. Dihydrogen monoxide can kill you but it is only water.

          Why the change ?

I had a Mad Scientist moment

I have a 'bag a day habit' and can't seem to grow enough of the stuff.

I thought of planting out the stream but I'm in sheep farming country and have concerns about liver fluke

          Here's an interesting article...

          is it organic
