  • cabbage root fly

My poor cabbages are being got at by the cabbage root fly. I used to use Sybol as a root drench, which worked fine, but since the EU banned it you cant get it. Is anyone aware of any alternative?

Thanks two sheds, great help. Never realised the little blighters laid eggs in the soil, I always assumed they laid them on the plant like cabbage whites! I have some grey fabric thats for putting under gravel on drives etc, do you think that would do the job? Always try to be as organic as is possible, so dont use chemicals much at all these days

Anyone know how to "encourage populations of predatory beetles"?
Which beetles and what do they like?
Warning: I have a dangerous tendency to act like I know what I'm talking about.
