  • Pea advice - picking / second sowings

my kelvedon wonder peas are now about 2ft high, loads of flowers, first pods swelling up
when is the best time to pick them? are they better young and small? do they go tough and horrible if picked too late?
should i blanch before freezing? or are they ok going straight from pod to freezer?

when this lot stop producing, i'd like to do a second sowing - i'll start them off in pots in the greenhouse, then rip out the old ones and plant the new ones straight away - i want the new ones to be about 6" high when i plant out
so bearing in mind the first pods just swelling up on the first batch, anyone got a clue when to actually sow the next lot??? (estimated date like mid or end of a month would be good!)

I will watch this thread with interest. I was thinking of putting a pea seed at the base of each growing plant when they start to flower. Not sure if that would work but I know there are no pests bothering the Alderman which are now heading past 4 foot tall!!
