growing veg after using Path Clear

I recently applied Path Clear to clear weeds from an area of the garden. I have now decided it would be ideal as the site for my vegetable plot. Are there any dangers in growing Veg after using Path Clear? (I want my veg to be as organic as possible).

Don't know - what does it say the active ingredients are? Then you could try googling them? I honestly haven't used it so I can't help - but I wouldn't think it is organic.

I think pathclear is designed to kill everything for up to a year? Probably no good to grow after using as I dont think it biodegrades quickly

Sodium chlorate isn't it? Yep about a year if so.

Pathclear is evil stuff. Your veg won't grow. I reckon at least 6 months before you can use the area to grow anything properly. Years ago I moved into a house which was advertised as having a "vegetable garden". The area was lovely, smooth and weed-free bare ground. I should have guessed. The previous occupant had not only used pathclear to get rid of the weeds, he had also buried loads of builders rubble about six inches below the surface of the "veg garden". Took me around 18 months to get it productive and No 1 son and I (12 years old at the time) dug out loads of bricks, blocks, cement, wire ties etc.

Put down a membrane and build raised beds on top?

I would think that if you try and put membrane down and soil on top in a raised bed (1) it might not work and your veg might die anyway and (2) unless you build the soil up very high, you'll have really shallow growing depth for as long as you have the raised beds with membrane underneath, which will limit what you can grow.

Use containers and growbags this year and wait until next year to plant in the ground?
