help raised beds

are 6" deep raised beds ok for toms ,cucumbers and runner beans

Hi

I've grown cukes and toms in a shallow tray before; it was about 5 inches high but they were well staked with canes wedged in each corner to hold them all up - beans I'm not so sure of.

What's underneath it?

They work fopr me just fine - but gro the cucumbers up a frame, saves space.
