This afternoon i brewed an infusion of herbs into a dark liquid , then left it to cool an have decanted it into a spray bottle in my attempt as my new slug weapon .
I took a few cloves of garlic, a handful of fresh rosemary from the herb garden and a teaspoon of dried sage and simmered them in half a pint of water for ten mins, and then left the brew too cool. Next strain off the cool liquid into a spray bottle. You can use the same mash to make a second batch the same. I were just eperimenting to start with.
I choose garlic because of its stinky , strong oils that slugs are meant to hate, Rosemary for its insecticidal and anti fungal properties and strong oils, and Sage for its cleansing anti bacterial effect.
I don't know about the slugs yet but it empties your sinuses, kills dogs at 50 mtrs an clears spots too i reckon
I have sprayed my newly planted swede's and broccoli with the infusion . I will let you know how we get on with the slugs over the next few days. we are forcast rain so its a good a test as any. Thought it were worth a bash just to give the young plants a fighting chance. Once they are up an strong i will leave them be as i dont want everything stinking of the evil brew.
