  • Tomato leaf problem - brown and disintegrating

    Hi folks

Alarmed yesterday to find a horrid problem with a 'red cherry' tomato plant in greenhouse. The leaves have got a brown dessicated sort of tracing on them and they're a little rolled up. Then when you sort of pry the leaf open the brown bits pull open into a sort of whitish green shredding and fall apart.

I've taken the plant straight out and binned it but I'm really worried that whatever it is may be contagious. Has anyone else come across it?

(Sorry about the lack of a picture but I'm technologically challenged in that respect!)
    Cheers

I can't give you an answer myself, but i'm sure the following google search will set you in the right direction:

      Hi Gary

Thanks for the search link (good idea!) but I'm still struggling to see anything like it. I widened the search to include insects and I suppose the closest is one of the leaf miners but, even so, this doesn't look like the brown tracings which then go greeny white when pulled apart.

      Panic time ? ...
      Cheers
