    IGGYS and greens

Hi, don't know if any help, but am getting an iggy so have been on here all day getting advice, as most sites are from USA as is main place for iggys, virtually all say main food for iggys, is collard, now obviously this is an american continent type "cabbage", so i typed it in google, and it says, surprise surprise closest resemblant is spring greens, i know you have had so many replies, but having had some animals or other my whole life, if they are happy, and not sick which i think you would have noticed in 5 years, stick to what you are doing, i have a macaw and he eats everything, he's not "supposed" too but he's been living like that for nearly for years and is in fine fettle

I had an iguana some time ago and he used to cost me a fortune to feed! One food which is great for iguanas and very easy to grow is watercress. It's high in Calcium, low in Phosphorus, etc so should be good. Also when you feed it to them you can put it in a tray of water to keep it nice and fresh so it doesn't go limp and horrid under the lights. It might be worth getting some mixed salad leaves seeds with things like mustard, mizuna, rocket, etc just for a bit of variety.

Don't know if this helps but i found it on google

The most important thing is to feed your iguana a VARIED diet using the following, well-rinsed foods:

Greens (40%-50% of the daily mixture):
Mustard Greens - Collard Greens - Dandelion Greens - Turnip Greens - Rapini - Mulberry Leaves - Grape Leaves - Hibiscus - Escarole (outer, dark green leaves only - do not feed pale, bleached leaves).

        Vegetables (40%):
        Green Beans - Peas - Turnip - Rutabaga - Parsnip - Butternut Squash - Acorn Squash - Sweet Potato - Zucchini - Carrot - Lima Beans - Cassava - Jicama - Chayote

        Fruit and Flowers (10-20%):
Papaya - Pear - Strawberries - Raspberries - Mango - Grapes - Apricot - Peach - Cantaloupe - Casaba and Honeydew Melon - Kiwi - Figs - Nasturtium - Hibiscus - Rose Petals (no pesticides)

        Occasional Foods and Treats (10%):
        Kale - Parsley - Beets/Beet Greens - Banana - Apple - Rose Petals - Spinach - Pasta - Bok Choy - Broccoli - Cauliflower

Do not feed your iguana large quantities of broccoli flowerettes, corn, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, bananas, grapes, carrot, or tomatoes because they contain higher amounts of phosphorous, oxylates, phytates and other components that can hamper your iguana's healthy growth processes.

I thought that bananas were ok as the Iguana at school was given them all the time
