Gherkin help

Am growing gherkins for the first time and am asking for info on male and female flowers. All the flowers so far have been female and I have quite a few gherkins growing very well. My cucumber on the other hand has only produced male flowers so far. My question is, is this normal.

I think it depends on the types you are growing. I grew F1 all female cucumbers last year along with various 'regular' types. I was surprised when the supposedly all female ones had male flowers first of all but was told this can happen if you get odd weather conditions. I guess there is really no hard and fast rule. Most of the regular cucurbits show male flowers for a while before the female ones happen along.
