Courgettes going yellow at one end

My courgettes are going yellow at the flower end while the other end is growing normally.

Is there anythng I can do / stop doing / do more of ?

has it happened to lots of them? ive had a couple do that so ive just removed them and the rest have been fine.

some of my courgettes have been doing this too but others on the same plant are really healthy, and I cannot iunderstand why.
I remove them and the others remain fine.
I wondered if it has something to do with watering?

Might be something to do with the flowers as if they start to rot, or decompose, the rot will set into the tip of the courgette too.

I've had this from time to time and I think it's due to non fertilisation. Later fruit are OK because by the time they get going the plants been pollinated. It seems as if a fruit starts off OK then falters and starts to die off or never really get going whilst other later ones romp away swelling rapidly.

If it happens to all of them it's either blossom end rot or they have been started too early.

i saw on the big dig on tv yesterday someone talking about marrows rotting off and he said it might be because they were not polinated

This is right, unpollinated fruit does get end rot, they don't survive, best to cut them off and allow more to come through.

HI there. First time grower here. This is also happening to my Courgettes. Is this rotting or just normal? I have about 4 fruits at the mo, all looking similar.

looks like they've run out of something Chris. They need loads of water so it maybe that they have dried out at some point & it;s stressed them.

Well we ate the good bits in a risotto as an experiment and they tasted fine, and we're still breathing. We'll see if we survive the night.
We did notice that there were no new seeds in the bit we ate, so maybe hadn't polinated.
I doubt that they've suffered from too little water, they're in a grow bag with 2 x tomato plants, and they're all growing wonderfully.
There are a few more coming through now so we'll see how they turn out.

That may be th e problem Chris, Tomatoes & Courgettes are Gross feeders. I would plant your two toms in a growbag & the courgett in one on its own, better still get a big tub, put half a bag of rotter muck in hte bottom & top off with a growbag, you'll have twice as many. You could used the remaining hal a bag in two tubes for the toms topped off with the growbag then dig the contents into the garden next year or try a sowing of early carrots.

No garden, sadly, just pots / grow bags in the yard. Will do something about it in years to come but only moved into the new house in early June.
By the way... what do you mean by Gross feeder. I assume it means that they require lots of water. Is that right?

Mine have all suddenly gone like this too. I'm wondering if it's erratic water supply. I know in the past they've done well when there has been plenty of rain and certainly I'm struggling to get them watered enough in this heat.

HI all i am new to the vine but i read this thread with some interest. i had a problem with my courgette plant when i first planted it. it is in a pot on the patio as i had never grown them before i bought jusy one plant fron garden centre to see if i could grow it. the first fruit grew and went what i can only describe as bulbuos one end, i was quite disheartened at this but i did some reading up and found they need plenty of water so it now gets abuot 1 litre of water every evening and it is going great guns. it just goes to show that persiverence is a wonderfull thing.
