How do you organize your seeds?

I bought those pop stud CD boxes with lids and then bought loads of CD plastic wallets from Poundstretchers.

I put the opened seed packets in the clear CD wallets and some packets get folded over to fit. All the wallets then fit into the Cd Box. The clear wallets are a good idea when taking them into the garden/allotment as there is no seed spillage and if it starts to rain no soggy packets either.

I put them in the box in 5 sections of my Plot numbers (so I can remember what is in each plot without going outdoors), mini greenhouse sowings and one labelled Other. I just used some card to make the dividers in the box.

Mine are in a 12-month accordion type wallet/holder.
It works brilliantly, pop a seed packet in the right month for sowing. You end up with a lot of seeds in the March pocket, so I have two for March, and none for December.
When March comes round, I take out all the packets for March, have a look through, sow what I want, then put the seeds back. Some go forward into the April pocket, or May and so on.
I religiously sellotape the packs back up, to avoid spilled seed all over the place.
I'm also being a bit ruthless this year, and getting rid of any that I know I won't use.

This year I'm even more organised, and charting what I sow into an Excel document, because every year I end up ordering seeds that I already have in my collection. Having a printable list on the computer will give me an at-a-glance look at what I have and what I need to order more of.

I got a bargain-basement steel bread bin that Homebase were selling for cheaps. Seeds are organised by the type according to the lunar calendar - root, leaf, flower, fruit - so I can look at what's good to sow on that day and rumage through the selection.

Mine are in a couple of biscuit tins. One for unopened packets, one for opened. That's about as organised as I get.

Maybe why I don't do as well as I could...

Hi I keep my seeds in an old floppy disk box, the sort which lock and have dividers, they are sorted by what plants together in the beds. Brassicas, salads, peas and beans e.t.c.
