i planted my cobnut squash seedlings in the begining of june. i dug 12" deep and wide holes and filled them full of last years compost. heaped up a mound of compost about 10" high on top of each and then planted the seedlings. kept them covered in plastic bottles for a week or two and have since surrounded them with glass panels to keep them sheltered and warm. now the plants are huge! each taking up a space of at least 3ft square(is this normal?)
there are lots and lots of buds coming up, some are hidden deep inside in the centres and some are emerging from the thick trailing arms. what do i do next? what flowers will be what and how do i pollinate them? do i restrict the number of flowers hence the number of fruits? they are my pride and joy at the moment, i will not be a happy bunny if i do not get decent fruit from them. can any one advise me please.
