Too late!
Blight is about in summer. That's why spuds are planted early (March) to try and escape it - earlies should be cropped and out of the ground before blight comes along.
You could try planting some after blight-season (late August) for a Christmas crop, but it isn't always successful. Potatoes planted in August for ChristmasAll gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

In the pub last night, I was talking to a couple of farmers and they grow spuds for a well known crisp manufacturer (with a spud of the same name) and they've just finished planting the last field. They also use a lot of chemicals!http://norm-foodforthought.blogspot.com/
