Spinach - although it is starting to bolt now, and I only put more in a couple of weeks ago and its only just coming up ! - I'll know better next year - won't I ?
Also picked thefirst teeny weeny courgette -it was the first one and it hadn't grown any bigger in the last few days, so I took advice off the Courgette thread and ate it - very nice it was too ! Bring on the rest !!

Today I picked my first watercress and it was suprisingly yummy! The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

On friday, OH and I had some new onions on our veggie kebabs with the BBQ. And the first 2 new potatoes - oh bliss!! (As I was a bit sick of salad, I actually only had an apple for lunch - but had been eating my own all week).
On saturday, we had more onions in kebabs and the toddler had some broad beans.
Yesterday, the toddler had some broad beans in her tea. We meant to do HFW's broad beans on toast, but forgot, at lunch (kinda skipped lunch TBH). And I forgot to bring home the only 2 raspberries that were red on the plot.
Today, the toddler is having some peas with her tea, and we are having new potatoes and steamed broad beans with some roasted chicken thighs. While I have some mangetout and lots of salad leaves in my lunchbox.
Tomorrow, we will be having a stirfry involving our own onions, cabbage (shredded), peas and broad beans, purple sprouting brocolli and cauliflower (and bought mushrooms, courgette and pepper). And another salady lunchbox.

So far today, more strawberries (got to beat the birds) and lettuce leaves for lunch. Later I'll be picking some more mange tout for with tea.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Today (well. strictly yesterday) I dragged my poor parents (on a visit) down the lottie. Sat them on the (scruffy) chairs on the (Heath Robinson) patio-ette next to the (tiny) wildlife minipond and pick SO SO SO many delicious strawberries from our plot. We had had the forethought to bring down a jug of Pimms too.....mmmmmmmm
Life doesn't get much better......
