    • Last night, i pulled a whole lettuce from the back garden (rescued from the slugs) instead of pulling leaves from various plants for my lunch today.

Another small handful of mangetout joined the tub in the fridge - I reckon there will be enough for everyone to have a taste at the weekend. My 3 courgetttes are getting reasonable sized, and a summer squash has formed as well!! And I may decide to sacrifice the rest of my tub of baby carrots to the cause (if I am feeling particularly generous - but I may find lots of lovely brocolli on the plot intead!!).

Last night also saw huge inroads into the onions and garlic. We had chicken fajitas for dinner, which needed 1 large onion and also some salad leaves. And then I used 2 smaller onions and 6 cloves of garlic in tonight's roasted veg mix that I prepped before bed (mushrooms, a whole courgette, a whole yellow pepper, about 8/9 mini plum tomatoes) and some dried oregano and fresh rosemary, with a dash of olive oil. And then more rosemary and about 4 more cloves of garlic with olive oil marinading the lamb chops (which will also go into oven). And peeled a handful of spuds to roast as well.

                  • Since last posting in here (about a week ago), we've harvested 35lb spuds (first earlies, 2 beds, 20 plants per bed, which is only about half the total harvest from the 2 beds, the other half went to the plot holder who's taking on the half plot we harvested the first earlies from), 7 more courgettes, 3lb more rasps, 2lb more strawbs, another 2lb mange tout, 18 beetroot, 12 baby carrots, a cabbage, about 8 portions of broccolli, 2 caulis, 95 overwintering onions (biggest at about 2lb each), another 2lb of broad beans, 2 lettuces, a cucumber and lots of radishes!

Not bad for a weeks haul, plus lots more growing away nicely!
                    Blessings
