And the one that made Mr D smile more than anything else, the first mushroom from the kit we bought last month! Big enough to feed 2 of us, and as you can see, Mr D was really impressed! (when he first saw it there was a cry from upstairs, I wondered what had happened!)Blessings

Poor show here compared to lots of you, got a good quantity of purple-podded mangetout (they have been really good this year) a few pods of Alderman (waiting the next lot to start producing - in flower now) 4 pods of broad beans (must sow more next year) one turnip and a half-dozen Golden Wonder tatties. Also got four climbing beans - loads of flowers but the weather keeps blowing them to bits I think and we aren't getting much crop. I have had one courgette this year - don't think I will bother with them again.Happy Gardening,

Today i harvested the last of the Beetroot, runner beans, sprouting broccoli and a first harvest of the Kale!!
I didn't expect to be harvesting my Kale until November at the earliest as was only sown 8 weeks ago but it was quite clearly ready for me to take a first cropping off the leaves, so i wont let them go to waste.
Have got them with chicken pie tonight.
