      • Today I've taken.......

Another 7lb of toms, still quite a few on the plants, (methinks it may be time for Special Green Tomato Chutney!)
        Another 3 cabbages
        A Romanesco Broccolli
        2lb of sprouts
        The Last 12 sweetcorn
        2 leeks
        3 peppers
        9 cucumbers
        1/2lb PSB
        3lb Raspberries
        1lb carrots!

Not a bad haul for the time of year! Still got plenty of cabbages, caulies, broccolli, leeks, jerusalem fartichokes, grapes, celery, swedes, turnips, carrots, pak choi, lettuce, parsnips and chilli peppers to harvest, so should be ok for fresh veg for a while yet!
        Blessings

              • Lots of tomatilos along with chillies and onions and tomatoes to be made into tomatilo salsa and tomato salsa and then bottled via the pressure canner. Aslo harvested was a red cabbage and some cavelo nero.

The last bunch of outdoor grapes didnt even make the car but a big bunch of late perenial flowers for Kazzi did.

                • Managed a flyby on Friday afternoon. HArvested enough calabrese for one night's dinner this week, a good handful each of peas, broad beans and borlottis, and a lareg bag of brussels sprouts.

MIL and mum both got a dinnersworth of sprouts over the weekend (both thrilled).

I'll use the remainder of the veg during the week, but Fri night dinner was a "own veg pasta mix":
1 red & 1 yellow onion, garlic - fried. Added the leftover mushrooms (shop bought) and then a decent dollop of roasted peppers (from shop but roasted and preserved myself), some calabrese shoots, and a good handful of peas, broad and borlotti beans. Grilled 4 rashers and chopped into the pan, and added a half-sized tin of tomatoes with herbs. Served that with preshly cooked pasta, which had 2 courgettes (in chunks) added to the cooking water about 5 minutes from the end.

Tonight, I am using some yummy chilli sausages from the German sausage maker who sells at the framer's market near our parents houses, with tomato sauce and fesh pasta and some beans.

Tomorrow will be Sweet'n'sour prawns with some courgette, onion, garlic, shredded brussels sprouts and brocolli shoots. There may be some brocolli, lots of brussels sprouts and some courgette left for Wednesday/Thursday so I'll think of something inspiring by then - I know I have a set of meatballs in the freezer so they'll probably appear one day.

And next weekend is definitely going to involve baby leeks, anya spuds, purple sprouting brocolli and baby sweetcorns (not minpop for stirfrying - regular ones that didn't grow very big!). I'm not sure how yet, but it will!!

                  • In the end, I actually made our own sauce with the pasta and sauce on Monday. Fried a red and yellow onion, and a clove garlic. Added a half a courgette and a quarter inch water. Then added brocolli shoots, then handful peas and beans, then handful of tomatoes that were ripened on wondowledge (so a wrinkly lot), the juices from the last roasted chick which I'd frozen (poor toddler didn't have chicken meat after all!! oops), and a squeeze4 of tomato puree from a tube. Stirred it all together, added the chopped grilled chilli saussies and served over fresh pasta (which unfortunately stuck together - otherwise it woulda been DELISH!!! ). As it was, the sauce was great, but pasta a bit gluey.

Had sweet n sour from a jar last night - used to love that one, but gone right off it.

Going to put some brocolli shoots in with the meatballs and pasta tonight to add a little something.

                      • Made a "lottie curry" on Sunday night. Leftover roasted chicken, mild curry powder, chicken stock from freezer, half a tin of cocnut milk, juice of half a lime. And veggies:
Onion, garlic, calabrese shoots, borlotti and broad beans, peas (about 3 after the toddler spotted them!), 2 small sweetcorn cobs stripped, - all from the plot - and 6 asparagus spears (we got those on the M&S deal). I really feel like I am forgetting something - but I don't think I have.
