    ...and making them fertile etc, um but why?

    I don't get it Does it make more courgettes etc?

      You've obviously heard of 'the birds & the bees' Gryfon judging by your avatar pic., well that's what it's all about.
      If your plants are growing outdoors you don't need to worry about it much as the insects/wind will pollinate all the right flowers, it's only usually if you're growing in a greenhouse that you might need to get your paintbrush/pen/cotton bud out & get involved in the plant's sex life!
