      Hi finney,

I use beer traps and they work a treat. I have two empty and washed Jam Jars, filled with beer and every night there seems to be a gathering of sugs over the side, they eventually get Pi**ed and fall in. I would reecomend this to anyone with slug and snail problems. It really works.

as for what type of beer to use am I aloud to mention brands? what the heck here goes, I have tried a few, boddingtons, john smiths and tetleys and the one that I find has them swarming for a drink is Tetleys + it is the cheapest.... would certainly recomend giving it a try, and I have found they attract for a couple of weeks easily. It tends to be one for the slugs and one for me.......

Go on put a couple in and enjoy your holls.

Do you have anyone that could do a little night slughunt for you once or twice while you are away in return for some produce?

I use slug Pellets which seem to do the trick, i put them down once every 2 weeks to form a kind of moat around my raised beds and then a couple in between the rows of the veg that the slugs seem to go for the most.
I also find that the slug pellets work best when slightly damp so after putting them down I give them a quick sprinkle then let them do their work.
