In season vegetables and fruit?

I know one of you marvellous people on here can help me out with this - I hope. I'm with Gordon Ramsey on this one but and heres the problem this little seedling has... I get a marvellous monthly cooking mag that tells you whats in season that month and the recipes are all using 'in season' produce. For December for example we have beetroot and chard (along with others) but this also appplies for july also. I have checked the seed sowing chart on another thread and it says the last time to sow beetroot is July, does this mean that July's sowing stay in until December as does the chard?
I would love to see a 'What to sow this month' thread to help us more inexperiened would be gardeners.

Hi there. I use the 'What I did today' thread as a reminder of what to sow. It reminds me to dig out the seeds I bought and stashed away then promptly forgot about!

There are lots of online gardening calendars. This one from RHS is very detailed but I have seen simpler ones too...
