  • Mixed up potatoes

I have containers for my spuds. I know I have an new potatoes, earliers and main crop.

The problem is my OH moved them around the other day and I am totally confused on which are which!

They are all looking the same, should my earliers be ready now? as none have flowered yet

    Advice and reassurance please

You might be able to tell from the colour of the flowers. What varieties did you plant>
The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

Not all potatoes flower before they are ready. As has been said on previous threads have a furtle/broggle around and see if you can find anything below the ground.

I'd agree with that, having had the same problem - although I did label mine, I earthed up the label So I just had a little rootle around in the pot til I found a potato & pulled it out - soon realised which were Charlotte (ready to eat ) And which were Anya (very small still, watered to settle the soil back round the roots & left to carry on growing!)
