Spring planted garlic

Advice please, planted garlic in early April wonder when it will be ready to harvest, and how do I know it is ready, first time I have grown garlic.

i did the same and they are bulbing up nicely. i think you harvest when leaves turn yellow.

mine are going over leaves turning,but dont seem to have cloves on most of them

Apparently they need frost to make them split. If your haven't been frosted they will still be usable but just in a single clove

Huge fearlessly eatsitall was picking "wet garlic",and using it now,I guess it dries like onions when the leaves die back,I've only planted mine a couple of weeks ago!

Your garlic is ready when it looks as if it is dying.
Spring planted garlic will be smaller and might just be a single bulb, not split into cloves, but it is still usable.
For best results plant some in November for next year.
