  • Growing peppers and tomatoes

I have been told today, that you cannot grow peppers and tomatoes together in the greenhouse. Is this right? I have tried in the past and my peppers have been small, is this because I am doing something wrong, or is it because they are grown together?

Whoever told you that is talking nonsense Lizzy.
Ideally tomatoes and peppers want slightly different conditions.
Tomatoes like the temp between 18 and 22. Peppers maybe like a bit more.
But with a bit of compromise they will both manage as many of us will testify.
      Good luck with yours.
PS - you can grow them both outside and they manage there.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I've grown them together in the greenhouse for 3 years! The only problem may be that they can be susceptible to the same pests & diseases, so if you get them on one the chances are that it will spread to the other. But if you only have one greenhouse, then I don't think you should be worrying too much
the small peppers last year were probably due to the weather as much as anything else - all my greenhouse crops were pants last year. As long as you are giving them the best shot (water, tomato feed, warmth & sunlight), they should be fine.
