  • Have you grown potatoes in tyres?

Has anyone grown potatoes in old tyres?
As potatoes take up a lot of space and I want to grow lots of other veg I have been told you can grow them in tyres.

I thought I was going to be to late for potatoes this year but have just read a thread ( somewhere on here but can't find it now!!) that you can grow potatoes for Xmas day and thought I would give it a go in tyres.

Any ideas or input would be grate.

You can grow potatoes in virtually any container. All they require is soil and water. Just remember they are not hardy plants and the foliage will die at the first sign of frost. Grow them in buckets that you can move into a warmer place as the weather gets colder to prolong the growing period. If you want potatoes for Xmas, grow them in your compost heap, nice and warm for them there and you can cover them with clear plastic sheeting as the temperature drops.
I you'st to have a handle on the world .. but it BROKE!!
