I have just 6 squash in my (rapidly clearing) spud patch. It's not strictly part of my crop rotation, but more a case of needs-must.

I've got leeks waiting to go in somewhere, also PSB, cabbages, beetroot, brussels & swedes in modules, then there'll be over-wintering onions, shallots & garlic to go somewhere. I'm sure some of them will end up in the vacated potato bed

Oh, and as you're in the South, you could grow over-wintering broad beans under a cloche?

Brassicas, and (come autumn) broad beans.
(Anyone know when autumn-sown broadies need to be sown? Better to sow in situ or in modules?)

Leeks, swedes and any spares that I haven't got round to planting out - which I have plenty of brassicas sitting waiting for space.
