Potatos - brown spots on just one variety

Hi there, I grew some tiny mimi potatos this year, just 5 of them along with a few fir apple ones in addition to the normal ones I grow. I'm a bit concerned about my mimi ones though as they have brown spots/blotches on the leaves. None of the other plants are affected so I was wondering what the best course of action would be?
Should I give up on the crop and cut the tops off now and dispose of or will it be OK and not transfer to the other potatos?

I would leave them for now and see what happens. If the plant collapses in the next couple of days it will be blight and you will need to take action. The weather on this side of the country has not been right for blight but I don't know about the east side. If it is blight then the chances are your other potatoes will have been exposed so taking imediate acton would be a bit premature. It may be nothing serious so just wait and see.

cornwall is full of blight, you can always cut the plants backs to the stems.

Nicky, it all depends on what the brown spots look like. If they are 'splodgy', seem wet, have a mouldy looking bit on the underneath of the splotch, then it could be blight. However, if the spots seem more of a 'spot' than a 'splotch', they seem dry, the spot is a chocolatey colour with no mould underneath, then it could be 'Chocolate Spot', which you don't need to do anything about.
It could also be scorch, if the sun came out when there was water on the leaves, or a few other things which don't mean the loss of your plants. How long have they been in for? We ate our Mimi a couple of weeks ago
